Perched on the edge of the village of Pererenan – a sleepy idyll in the popular Canggu region on Bali’s south-west coastline, there is a rich sense of tradition that stretches beyond The Iman Villa. Decorous Hindu temples and customary Balinese snack stops line the streets of the local town, whilst the surrounding beaches slowly give way to the thrall of tourism, accommodating more deluxe offerings of fine-dining and trendy beach clubs.

Just a few kilometres in the distance – away from this tranquil oasis – find Batu Balong, a mecca among surfers and travellers for its happening bars, slick coffee shops and eclectic cooking styles. With venues such as the Beach House - gaining notoriety for its daily barbecues and Sunday live music sessions - it’s easy to see the allure of the spot for the younger (and older) tribes. As the area progresses, the age-old party destination of Seminyak may see its popularity dwindle given this newfound competition.

An idyllic setting from which to gaze at the surrounds, open-living and rooftop terraces allow the perfect spots for reclining, with the upstairs sunken Jacuzzi the ideal relaxation-station at the end of another blissful day in paradise. Overlooking the manicured gardens - with the 20m swimming pool, adjacent wading pool plus ample sun-lounging space - there is plenty of room for reclining, both upstairs and down. A main two-storey dwelling contains three bedrooms – the master suite upstairs with expansive rice terrace views, deluxe king-sized bed and spacious bathroom. Opposite is the first guest suite, equally well-appointed with sliding doors onto its own roof terrace. A third ground floor bedroom has its own king-sized bed, delightful bathroom and access to the pristine lawns.

In a separate annexe, the final two bedrooms are found; king-sized sleeping with their own ensuites, sliding doors giving way to the outside and a private alcove that could sleep a young child should families require extra bedding.
